About

Hi, I’m Johanna Scoglio (she/her), MBA, MEd — a lifelong educator turned mental health advocate, writer, and peer supporter.

I have lived with an eating disorder for over 25 years. Over time, I realized that recovery is not a fixed destination, but a complex, deeply personal, and ever-shifting tide. Through my journey, I've learned to stay in the water, lean into support, and embrace practices that connect body, mind, and spirit — living a life aligned with my core values.

Out of my journey grew the vision for A Dragonfly’s Dream — a safe harbor where people walking the long road of eating disorders can come together in community, compassion, and courage. This space honors each person's pace, supports connection with others who understand, and encourages gentle steps toward growth and self-discovery. It is rooted in harm reduction, mind-body connection, and creative expression, reflecting our commitment to living these values every day.

Alongside creating A Dragonfly’s Dream, I volunteer with many eating disorder non-profits. I am trained in Intentional Peer Support, a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT-200), and am earning certification with the Center for Body Trust®.

I live in North Carolina with my husband, four bonus college-age children, and our puppy, Copa. I love nature, time with family and friends, reading, card games, jigsaw puzzles, live music, and exploring our area.

A Dragonfly’s Dream is the haven I long searched for myself. My hope is that it can become a home for you, too — wherever your journey flows.

With compassion, connection, & courage,

Johanna
